As Board Development Consultant & Fundraising Counsel (2008-2010) to Khmer Arts, a California and Cambodia-based dance ensemble and cultural archiving organization, Rachel created and conducted a Board Development Study consisting of multiple interviews with senior staff, board members, performance partners, foundation donors, and managing agents in the United States and Cambodia, and examined and assessed existing board and fundraising capabilities. She presented her findings, recommendations, and prospect list for board members, all of which were adopted by the Board members, whom she continued to train on issues pertaining to the definition of board member criteria, roles & responsibilities, recruitment strategies, leadership structure, individual fundraising and communications initiatives.
